Bowl-A-Fact Math Game
Today, Room 11 played the basic facts game 'Bowl-A-Fact.' It's like ten pin bowling because you have to knock down the pins. You roll 3 dice and have to use two or three of those numbers in equations. When your answer is one of the numbers, you get to knock the pin down.

Traffic Lights Maths Game
Today, we learnt a new math game called TRAFFIC LIGHTS. It is a place value game where someone thinks of a four digit number and the rest of the group have to guess it. They have to let you know if you have the wrong number, the right number but in the wrong place, and the right number in the right place. Here are some photos of us working in smaller groups...

Dice Probability
Today, Room 11 played a game called 'First Down the Mountain.' The children had to roll two dice and add the dots together then move that numbers counter down the mountain. They had to make predictions about which number would get down the mountain first then explain their reasoning.
We also simulated 100, 1000, and 10,000 games worth of data on the computer. We found out that it was more likely to be a small or large answer than middle one.
Here are some photos of us playing the game and gathering the data.

We used the KC's of THINKING and RELATING TO OTHERS during this activity.
